On Saturday, Dec. 17, Wreaths Across America will host its annual ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix — where thousands of holiday wreaths will be laid on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes.
This month, as we pay tribute to our nation’s veterans, bands, choirs and orchestras across the Valley will perform concerts consisting of some of the songs that help us express the pride and gratitude that words alone could never completely convey.
Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Amber Cargile has a long history of volunteer service with the Anthem Veterans Memorial, serving as protocol advisor during its inaugural Veterans Day ceremony in 2011 and assisting with script research as well as ensuring the flawless lead-up to its 11:11 a.m. solar spotlight ever since.
The community of Anthem will gather together May 30 at the Anthem Veterans Memorial for its annual Memorial Day ceremony — “A Day of Remembrance” — honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans who have fallen while serving our great nation.
Since its charter on Jan. 2, 1947, American Legion Post 34 has been home to veterans supporting one another while simultaneously giving back to Cave Creek and Carefree’s charitable organizations.
