North Phoenix resident Isabel Guerra Clark recently submitted a photo that she took of a great horned owl and its owlets.
“Many birds come to Arizona during the winter,” says Guerra Clark, who is a member of the Phoenix Camera Club — a collective of photography enthusiasts that is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. “These great horned owls come to this nest in North Scottsdale year after year to lay their eggs and raise their young. Then one day, they take off, never to be seen again… until next year.”
